Desert of the New is a book for anyone who set out to follow their dreams and found themselves unsure they could stick it out. What are the options?
My team and I have put together a few pre-order packages to choose from when buying Desert of the New. You can get the book on its own or bundle it with my last one, Sea of the Unknown. If you’re coming to Paris in 2026-2027 (from April onward), you’ll want to add the Paris Passport as it will open doors and discounts through a scavenger hunt across the city and through some of my favorite bars and coffee shops. You’ll more than make the money back in those discounts (and who can put a price on joy?).

When will everything be delivered?
Our plan is to have Desert of the New printed and shipped by the end of June 2026. If you order Sea of the Unknown, you’ll receive that in the same bundle. You can of course order Sea of the Unknown right now off of Amazon if you’d rather not wait, otherwise the bundles will come directly from Paris.
We have received and are shipping Paris Passports from April 2nd. If you purchased a pre-launch party ticket, you should have received yours at the event. Otherwise, we’ll have them in the mail starting early April, and onward.
My Paris Passport
For those of you that remember The Game from 2019, think of this as the next iteration. We worked with a designer and local print shop to create a small passport for your very own scavenger hunt in Paris. In it, you’ll find 10 of my favorite Parisian coffee shops and bars. Visit each place with your passport in hand and receive a discount or gift, and nab a sticker “visa” to fill your passport. You’ll find a longer story about this in the book, but it’s a fun way to encourage visitors off the beaten path while supporting some of my favorite local businesses.
